Hello again all.

Our 15 week clumber pup has been great through the night on the whole - waking once to go out for the loo, and then settling again - at one point he was sleeping through from 11p.m until about 4.30 a.m, then settling till we get up for work at 6.45.

In the last week or so, he's started waking at about 2 a.m (genuinely needing the loo), then settling afterwards. His got a great appetite now, so we've increased his feed, and he gets fed 3 times a day (last at about 7.30 p.m).

Should we just wait for him to settle into a new sleep pattern, or should we try leaving him for a bit when he starts the 2 a.m toilet whine? He's not soiled his crate once in the 5 weeks we've had him, so we're a bit reluctant to push our luck on this.
I know we've been very fortunate so far with regards to him sleeping, but it feels a bit like a backward step.
Any views or thoughts are much appreciated.

Personally i would get up to him when he wakes in the night. I have apup of a very similar age and most nights she is now going through but if she does wake up I go down to her take her out dont talk or excite her and put her back to bed after her wee. Sometimes she just wants to play I still do the ame and find she settles.
Sounds to me you are doing well. Just go with it at the moment as she gets older she will hold on through the night and wake up later.
My four year old shepherd just looks at me  when I get up for work and gets up when he is ready

when is the last toilet pee before bed?
my 12 wk old pup (on Wed) has gone through the night since we had him I can honestly say we have had a dry night everynight plus water freely available .
Still on 4 meals a day
last meal 9pm
last toilet 10.45 then bed
dont hear a peep until he sees me in the morning around 7.30 runs straight out and has a big pee.
I do have 3 other dogs he sleeps in the same area as his grandmother at night he is in his covered crate, so he isnt alone which I think makes puppies feel more at ease .
Difficult one ..I would put the alarm on go down take him outside before he wakes himself.. say nothing then go back up to bed try this  for a week or two then try leaving him again.
