My 11 month old king charles developed a limp in his front right leg 10 days ago, followed 2 days later by his back right leg, he has been to the vets and they couldnt find anything wrong, even though he still seemed in pain with his legs. 3 days ago i discovered his front right leg had swollen when it didnt seem to be before, so back to the vets we went. After xrays and blood tests they still couldnt ind anything wrong, though they have sent samples of fluid off to be tested, we are still waiting for these to return! He has nothing broken and no sign of arthritus, but they did discover his back right leg to be swollen too! Today it is in both back legs and he is having great difficulty walking and screams out if I pick him up and moans when he lies down. I am at my wits end, he is on pain killers, anti inflamatries and antibiotics, nothing seems to be working at all, just dont know what else to do or in fact what on earth is the matter with him!

It does sound a bit like panosteitis but I thought only large dogs got that.

Think I would want a thorough check at the vets, heart, bloods and x/rays at the very least. Swelling could be fluid collecting from any organ that was not functioning properly and the sooner it is found the sooner it can be treated.

Been back to vets tonight, he has said plenty of rest and cant do much else till his results from the fluid samples come back, said he is on the best meds that he can be for now, and that the swelling may go down over the weekend but appear in another leg, just so horrible seeing him in pain, especially when my other dog who is almost 16 runs around like a puppy!!!

Now I know I'm not a dog but I have swollen legs/ankles at the moment and it's all due to a bad back, so maybe you should get this dogs back x-rayed?

2 of my Rotties have had Pano, and the vet did tell me it was a big dog thing - however neither of them had any swelling. The boy had it so bad, we initially thought he broken his leg.
