I have a bitch due to whelp tomorrow. Temp has been from 38.4 to 37.4 all week so not quite low enough! However, she was scanned with 2-4 pups, we saw 4 (we think) but definatly 2! I'm not convinced she is having anything, she looks a little rounder, has pink teats and they are producing milk now. (I know all could be signs of phantom).

The main thing i want to ask is what colour should the mucus plug be? I have bred two other litters and theirs was clear discharge. This bitches looks very much like snot (sorry cant think of anything better to describe), very pale yellow in colour.

With all of this im not sure if she has reabsorbed. I have rung my vet and he is getting back to me. Just wanted some experienced breeders advice! HELP!

With my Papillons the discharge is always yellowish/very pale brown even as unlike in my Malinois (shot dark coat) you see it stuck to their white fur. For a week or so before whelping they have a lot of stained fur at their backside.
