I have a five month old puppy, who suffers from excessive tear staining, and I have heard about certain products you can buy that helps remove the staining.
Can anyone tell me what it is called, where I can buy, and roughly how much it is?
I can't feed CSJ or Arden Grange to my dogs because of the beet pulp ingredient, gives my dogs awful tear staining, when they are on RC their eyes are dry no staining.
I've been using Eye Envy from Hub, it's not cheap and doesn't work miracles, but it does help to reduce the staining. I'm hoping my puppy will grow out of it like her mother did!
My cat gets terrible staining. I can't change her food, as she has a very dodgy tummy. I have found that a bit of baby oil works wonders on a cotton pad. It's very cheap too. The cat food does have beet pulp in it too.
with my bulldogs i find diluted hibiscrub applied twice daily ,dried and then a barrier cream or oil ....some dogs tear more than others even when on the same food .....Optrex eye wash is also very good (it contains boric acid) also a put a tspn of apple cider vinegar in the drinking water as well.have to be honest on my dogs dont have much joy with the over the counter remedies but each dog is different what works for one wont work for another
