I'm moving!!! Wooohooo :-D
Well providing everything gets signed through ok, and i'm only renting as moving to an area i've now only visited twice and that was to look at this property..lol
Anyway getting excited now as it should all be good to go in a months time.. Large garden too!!
Been scouring the freecycle ad's to try and collect things I need for nothing, so have obtained a lovely brown leather 3 seater sofa for zilch!!
Better start writing a list of everything I need to buy and do - Like look into which electricity/gas company to use - all so new to me.. haha...
Anything else anyone can think of that I may have forgotton that needs to be added to the list or at least considered?

Ooh lots of fun!! Have just done the same last week :)
The things which I nearly forgot to change were my details for driving licence , DVLA etc. Also doctors and dentist. (just some more things to add to that "to do" list(s) ;) )

Ooh thanks.. I don't have a laptop or computer(on the families pc here) so will be on my iphone only in the home and also at work.
Post - yes the DVLA and others need updating.
Locating a good Dr's, Dentist and of course Vet(will speak to local people at ringcraft for advice)
I do need the following if anyone knows of something going cheap ;-)
Pots and pans
Knives
Cooking Utensils
Other cooking things like measuring jug, chopping board etc
Small kitchen table and chairs(would like foldaway)
Anything really probably will come in handy :-)
Decent curtains/blinds - Not thread bare
Tumble Dryer!!!! I think a must with all this dog bedding!! :-)

Obviously not free, but useful, is Ebay.
Try doing a search in Home & Garden, 10 miles radius of your postcode, then save the search and check it every day for Newly Listed items. You may get some very cheap odds & ends that way, and being local you'll save on postage. Items like furniture are usually pick-up/collection only, and therefore only useful to local people so there's often not many people bidding.

Depending on size I can help with curtains (replaced some of mine recently), a couple of wooden fold up chairs, & some kitchen bits, redundant plates, small coffee machine. Pity I didn't know you were moving sooner, just taken my old but still usable giant dryer to the tip (still fuming about this as I went through the exit to the white goods rather than queue with bin bag people, some jobsworth took my registration number and threatened me with a fine, but I digress)!
Anything else?

Exciting! Are you moving to a completely different area then? I will have a look and see if I have anything, I cant remember what I kept or gave away recently when I had a sort out.

You might want to look for a lawn-mower and maybe a strimmer, you said its a fair size garden. I havent cut the grass for weeks but when/if it rains again then things will go crazy...........I know I have a dog out there some where in the jungle

to say nothing of playing 'hunt the poo'

I looove moving house, I moved every 2 years all over the world as a child with my parents (army brat) then went to uni and moved lots within London so iv been in my flat for about a year now and am considering moving from London to Manchester in a few weeks.... oooo moving is the best. Free cycle, Ebay, and charity shops are great for cheap and cheerful, as well as Ikea and Primark. Good Luck

Oh brilliant WS, anything like that would be a great help :-) Thank you x
I must get myself to r/c this week, I must, must, must before I start living too far away from that one.. :-(
I'm moving what would be on a good day a 20min drive east of where I live now, however, the journey during rush hour can take well over an hour... Soo..Totally new area to me, have no idea really about it, so huge learning curve for me out there! Have found a new r/c over there and joined up last week and they are lovely peeps..
Try British Heart Foundation we equiped my son's flat from there some new stuff and you can bargin with them, plus car boots for odd saucepans then replace stuff when you can afford it.
Ohh freecycle web site join and get stuff free.
Friends of your parents may well come up trumps with things like pots and pans, knives and forks, plates, mugs, rugs, curtains etc etc. Us oldies usually have things put away we don't want to throw out because they are to good and would be more than willing to donate! frees up lots of space for us hoarders :) Car boots and charity shops are goldmines, as are house clearance type auctions and secondhand shops. Wilco and 'home bargain' type shops are good too. Just be careful with electrical items, make sure they have been tested or from trusted friends. Sometimes its easier and cheaper to 'give' something away that may be suspect so be careful, not everyone is honest!
Good luck in your new home, it's always exciting with 'your first new home'!
