Are they the same...Was told cycling was good for knees....but I find normal exercise bikes highly uncomfortable. Do the recumbent bikes work the same muscles (but in a more comfortable position) as a normal bike?

Cheers

I don't know which muscles they work, but at the gym my hubby drags me along too, I find the reclining bikes far more comfortable than the upright ones.

Do you mean recumbent as in sitting in a normal seat and using pedals............or a static bike where it is all in one just no wheels?
The static is very effective at helping along knees, ankles and leg muscles and stamina.
The pedals are less use but still great for circulation and to a much lesser degree muscle tone.

Karen :)
