Fish4dogs special offer here:

Half price Salmon Mousse for dogs and cats.  Dogs: short dated stock £10.70 for 45 sachets.

This stuff is brilliant in Kongs and I freeze it before use so I'd imagine this short dated stuff could be bunged in the freezer if you can't use it before the end date.

Thanks for that dogs a babe, have just ordered some for my cats! Can't go wrong at that price.
- By scotgal2009 [nl] Date 28.05.11 07:08 UTC
My pugs love the dried squid and star treats and I use the mousse as a topper for a treat, I got 96 packs for 20 quid and it's in the freezer! Total bargain!!
The salmon oil  is fantastic my bitch has stopped itching and her coat is looking so much better!

Love there free delivery and breeders prices, there service is top

I have all my dogs on Fish4dogs and they thrive on it. They are in peak condition and their coats are amazing. They have the whole job lot, mousse - kibble - treats - salmon oil - more treats and there is never one morsel left in the bowl. I give them a mix of all three kibble in one bowl to keep them interested as the sardine can be a bit rich for the younger ones, but i like the nutrients of the sardine.
I am curious though if the mousse freezes okay?? I have never thought of doing this and wondered if someone who has tried and tested this could let me know please?
I am a fan for another reason too - my girl is on the Fish4dogs price list so i feel very honoured and i am so proud of her!!!

I've been reliably told on another forum that it's fine to freeze, and that the company have confirmed it themselves.  I've not tried it myself though.
- By Rhodach [gb] Date 28.05.11 14:16 UTC
That the mousse can be frozen is worth remembering, I haven't any freezer space at present but will certainly think about it if this offer comes around again.

Wonder how they have nearly expired supplies, the stuff I got recently doesn't expire till Sept 2012.
- By killickchick Date 28.05.11 14:56 UTC
Thanx for the heads-up dogs a babe - just ordered some for my two ( and treats, and salmon oil, and a bone toy! :-D )

xx

- By scotgal2009 [nl] Date 28.05.11 16:59 UTC

- By WolfieStruppi [gb] Date 29.05.11 09:44 UTC
My most recent delivery of mousse expires Aug 12.
My sense of smell must have gone as I can't really smell it (can't smell my nicotiana plants in garden either).

>Wonder how they have nearly expired supplies

I wonder if they'd missed a box/batch at the back of their warehouse?  Their stock manager might be paying for the discount out of his/her salary!! :)

Glad you can all take advantage of the mousse offer and YES you can certainly freeze it.  Rhodach perhaps you could buy the short dated stuff to use first and store your longer dated mousse to use later...
- By Rhodach [gb] Date 29.05.11 14:20 UTC
That is what I decided to do,my lot will be thinking all their Xmases have come at once

Also the pouches are only tiny so will fit into gaps in the freezer that other things won't
- By MsTemeraire Date 29.05.11 20:37 UTC
Nearly bought some today at Bath (same offer price at show) but my dogs are raw fed, and of course they didn't have the cat version there. However the price includes delivery so I have just ordered a box for my cat and then thought, well why not, and ordered the dog variety as well.

Must say the people on the stand were very helpful and gave me a free sachet of the dog mousse just to see if my cat likes it as a taster, as it is very similar. At that price if my cat hates it, the dogs will enjoy the cat version as well!
- By jack [gb] Date 29.05.11 20:52 UTC
thanks for that, have just signed up for the puppy shop, going to send me some samples, cant wait to try them with my pup!!!! and it only cost £1 brilliant!!!!
- By dogs a babe Date 29.05.11 21:50 UTC

>my dogs are raw fed

Yes mine are too but I find the mousse is ideal for stuffing a Kong, and very handy for travelling.  If I know we are going to be late home from a show my pup has a couple of these before we leave the showground to keep him going til we get back!!

I also like to give them an occasional fish meal with salmon mousse, tinned sardines and a bit of kibble - it makes a change and is a handy overnight meal when I don't have the facilities for keeping meat fresh.

I hope your cat likes it :)
- By anoushkaabigale [gb] Date 30.05.11 14:07 UTC
If you have a look on the mousse for both the dogs and the cats, the ingredients are exactly the same, it is just the picture on the front that is different :=)  I even mentioned this to Fish4dogs and they shyly said yep!
- By dancer Date 31.05.11 12:33 UTC
I bought loads of this when it was last on offer, but my dogs haven't eaten it as quickly as I thought. Thanks dogs a babe for the tip of stuffing kongs and freezing. I have done this and also stuffed empty marrowbones and my 5 month old puppy loves them. Think it is soothing on his teeth and gums.

Think I will be freezing packs of it too. Does anyone know how long you can store it in freezer for?
- By Rhodach [gb] Date 03.06.11 16:42 UTC
My Salmon Mousse offer has just arrived and it expires 16 July 2011, have put 30 in the freezer and will use the rest first before going back to the first batch I ordered and then the ones in the freezer.

Wonder if the dachsies will like Salmon Mousse Sorbet,

ive just ordered some sample packs for my dogs and puppy

would fish4dogs be good for gaining weight on an underweight gsd?
- By JeanSW Date 06.06.11 22:07 UTC

>would fish4dogs be good for gaining weight on an underweight gsd

I have had to reduce quantities for my 3 Collies since feeding Fish4Dogs, so I see no reason not to give it a go.
- By Rhodach [gb] Date 07.06.11 06:31 UTC
My3dogs I hope you didn't pay for the samples, I just asked for some and was sent 24 of 3 different types.

Having struggled to put weight on 2 young dogs with sensitive tums for 6 months I tried fish4dogs Salmon and the male has gained 2.5kg in 10 days and the bitch 1.3kg....................I am very pleased!! :-)

this sounds very promising, although with a fussy dog, knowing my luck he will not like any of the fish4dog products!
- By my3dogs [gb] Date 09.06.11 16:32 UTC
well after having received my samples today, which i have to say, were very small and not worth a pound each!!! ... my GSD the fussy eater, wouldnt touch it ... my other two dogs wolfed them down though!
- By jack [gb] Date 09.06.11 17:22 UTC
my pup absolutley loves the sea jerkey, she cant get enough of it!!!
- By Rhodach [gb] Date 09.06.11 18:20 UTC
The samples are tiny, just a taste really, not enough even for a meal for one of my small dogs.

Sorry your GSD isn't interested.
- By Emz77 [gb] Date 09.06.11 18:21 UTC
I just buy one type either dog or cat and they both eat it as ingredients the same :-)
- By Reikiangel [gb] Date 10.06.11 07:52 UTC
I can't believe they charged you a £1 each.  They give them out free at the shows.

The ones I want to eat it won't which is a shame if they gain weight like that.  Raw lamb breast and sausage (cooked) is good for gaining weight.  I bet the GSD won't turn that down lol.

i thought thy might be bigger samples tbh so i didnt mind paying the pound, im going to write an e-mail expressing my disgust lol!

my lad never turns down lmab or sausage meat ... he'll eat that in a heartbeat lol

"I just buy one type either dog or cat and they both eat it as ingredients the same"

I think the feline version of the dry food has taurine added. The canine version won't be suitable for cats, long-term. The pouches of salmon mousse are identical but are to be used as complementary foods and are not suitable to be used as complete foods.
- By Emz77 [gb] Date 11.06.11 21:38 UTC
it's not the dry food i was refering too but the mousse... they are exactly the same ingredients just in diffferent packets!
