It will very much depend on the protocol advised but the manufacturer of the vaccine your vet uses, so best to seek the vets advice.

Yes I agree different vets use different vaccines, some over 2 weeks some over 3, your breeder should have asked you to take your pup to your vet within a day or two for a check up and to get vaccine, flea treatment and further worming products, you need to take her now as she can not mix with other dogs or go on grass where dogs have been until fully inoculated, however you should be taking her out with you (carrying) to socialise, meet people, get used to outdoor noises etc so that she is not fearful. :-)

spoke to vet and wont take her into give first injection until been here for a week why they never had a reason, she has already been wormed and flea treated from the breeders vet on monday when she had her microchip instaled. just couldnt work out the injections as some vets said 3 week others 2 week from the first injection for her second injection but gave no reason also. thanks for the info now at least i have a reason on the different amount of weeks inbetween each injection

Your puppy should still be protected by maternal antibodies and some breeders would suggest you wait until the puppy is 10 weeks at the earliest before starting vaccinations.  I'm sure I've also read people on here who won't vaccinate before 14 weeks.  It's a huge subject though and it pays to do a bit of research and have a read of a few articles you can find on the net.

This may be the reason why your vet is suggesting you wait a week, not just to allow the pup to settle in but until it is 10 weeks old.  They probably should have explained it to you though!  If you give them another ring they can tell you how long it is between 1st and 2nd injection.

As others have already said, this shouldn't stop you getting out and about - but it does limit the how and where - so have a look around at some carrying options and safe places to go.  Garden centres are excellent places to visit

Congrats on your new puppy :)

My vets protocol is after 8 weeks then 3 weeks inbetween each vaccination and then a week after the last is recommmended before pup can go out on the ground.
As for socialisation I use a babysling one that fits like a sling for a broken arm and find it really helps in getting around with a large lump of puppy in your arms, it is surprising how many places you can get to with a little planning.
Unfortunately one of our local garden centres, my favourite as it happens , has banned dogs due to hygeine reasons so I am now lurking in other places ie outside supermarkets, schools, may try a very short bus jorney too.
Hope you are enjoy your new pup as much as I am mine

My understanding is that you need to wait two weeks after weaning for mums antibodies to wear off, before first innoculaton can be properly effective.I use busy car boot sales to socialise my pups, once they have had first vaccine,as my vet will not give second shot until 12 weeks and then recommend a further 10 days quarantine before lead walking. The boot sales are held in a big safe field, and we often meet other dogs as well as lots of friendly people,so help to build confidence once walking on the lead.Trouble is I sometimes come home with "bargains",I did not know I needed!
