Is there a particularly good book on Dog Showing/Ringcraft ?

Do you know I am not sure there is - think it is because each breed has its own way of doing it and you just have to get in there and learn, in most breeds you will find people helpful and encouraging to beginners.

Any modern book by someone who shows your type of dog will be of help but take it as a guide only because in one breed it will be fine to, say, hold the tail in an other it will not be, but you will soon be told.

I can agree juliettes book is excellent for covering the majority of stuff and then you just need to fine tune breed specific stuff then.

Another book I quite like is Good Showing (The new Exhibitor's Guide to Dog Showing and the Showring) by Peggy Grayson.  I got it first from my library but later bought a cheap copy when I saw one.  Plenty of secondhand good value ones on eBay and Amazon
