I have quite a bit to cover, I have a male pug Lucky (black) and a female pug Luna (fawn) she gave birth to 5 pups on 5/7. She has always been a good dog same goes for Milo, good temperament, very playful, know the rules of the house. So my point is this, when she had the puppies, she instantly killed one, I have no idea why, we had to pry her mouth open to get the lifeless pup away from her. So after this she seemed to not want anything to do with the puppies, we tried to get them close to her so they could feed and she would get up and walk away. We tried to give her treats to lay down so she could feed them and she got upset and snapped at us and took another lunge at another pup and as much as I tried to care for it, it died the next morning. So since this has happened I called our vet and was told to remove the puppies and have now been bottle feeding the remaining 3 pups. They have done very well with the formula, they have not opened their eyes yet at is it only day 9, but I'm sure it will be soon. I have been on Google almost every day to make sure I am doing everything right. I work so I am feeding them at this schedule 6:30, come home for lunch 11:30, after work 5pm, again at 9pm and 1am.....At times I feel lost......
How long do I bottle feed them?
How much should they be eating?
How many times a day do i feed them?
When do I start trying dry food with formula?
At what age can they go to a new home?
When do they start teething?
How do I start to potty train?
Should I find a new home for my Mollie, as she has become very temperamental? Or should I get her fixed, I don't want her to kill another litter if she is to get pregnant again, this was her first litter?

Please help?

Contrary to common belief not all bitches are natural mothers, some are very confused at first, and take a few days to accept their puppies and know their duties.

I understand that in this breed poor mothering traits are very common.  Did you not have your bitches breeder helping you, which if you are new to breeding is what you should do.

You need someone who would have guided you through the whole process, especially in a breed like this where whelping difficulties and rearing problems are more likely.

Newborn puppies need feeding around the clock every two hours for at least the first week, then every three until their eyes are open.

Toy breeds development can be quite different to most ofter larger breeds so i will leave those in the know to answer your other questions.

Just because your bitch is temperamental/hormonal at this time does not mean her temperametn has changed permanently.  It's all a bit like Baby Blues or even Post natal Depression for some bitches.

As I think this situation is more relevent  in breeding I will lock this one and ask posters to continue on the OP's other thread please.
