As we are looking at a getting a 2 nd dog next year and many suggested a cocker as a good match for our Retriever I am going to start contacting a few breeders to find out more about the breed, as unfortunately I have come across a few agressive ones, but know this is unusual for the breed and all the family think it could be a good choice for us.

I am just wondering what health checks I need to be looking at?

Thanks again.

If you go to the KC website it lists all the breeds and what tests need to be done prior to breeding, the list is longer for some than others.

It also tells you the ages that females should not be bred before[many set by breed clubs] which may help spot some less than ideal breeding ethics in your search for a breeder.

Good Luck with your search
