Hi there,

does anyone know if there is any Agility classes for begginers in the Dundee? My mum wants to do something different with her Staffy bitch, shes very fit and wants to give her a challenge.
She is great with other dogs.

If you go to http://www.agilitynet.co.uk/ and look under Clubs - you can search by area/postcode.

Hope you find somewhere - most dogs excel at agility regardless of breed.

Before starting its a good idea to have a good recall, sit and a wait.  It will help with the training.

Good luck

Hi thanks so much for this!!

I was planning on showing her, shes a lovely blue girl, but mum wanted to get her spayed.

She has good sit and wait....her recall could probably be a bit better, shes only 18 months so shes still learning!...

I will go check out your link.
thanks so much :-)

Yes, very active club in Dundee - at Camperdown Park so look up their numbers on agilitynet and go and see what they do.  They've a show in late August also at Camperdown so worth going to see it all, you can chat with them, but don't forget that they will be very busy running the show.  Good luck to your mum, staffies can be very good and compete in either small or medium depending on height.

You can show a spayed bitch :-)

Yeh i know i can show her spayed, but i mean at Champ shows etc.
She is very very well bred, but mum just wanted her as a pet. I wanted to steal her! haha.

I will check out Camperdown, i really think my mum and peg (the staff) will love it, i think my mum can do with having a new hobby!! If it involves Peg she will be even happier!

Thanks for your replies.

:)

You can still show her at Champ Shows, just write to the KC and tell them she has been spayed. You don't need to ask permission to show a neutered dog anymore. Though bitches have a better chance of winning than dogs as you can't tell if a bitch has been done ;-) unless the coat has changed.
