I've never been here before but might have the chance to go next month. Has anyone here been , or know anyone who's been?

Im really looking for any opinions of it - place , people , value for money , weather etc.

Called in on a day trip when on holiday in Spain one.
Warm, tourist driven, but not much too it for me apart from seeing the apes.
Shopping not brilliant a little too English.

I've been a couple of times.  It's quite enjoyable as a day trip etc.  Just amazes how you walk across the runway.
