Hi All,
I have heared this mentioned before as a good sign that whelping is imminent. Can anyone describe any further?
Many thanks,
Aimi.
The night my bitch whelped she just sat staring at me, like she was trying to tell me something. She just sat by me feet looking at me. When it was time for bed she raced up the stairs and her contractions started about 15 minutes later.

Imagine you were invaded by an alien which had taken over your body. It starts to move inside you....can you think of how you would look whilst the 'thing' is wiggling about inside you?
It's an " Ooooh there's something going on in my tummy mummy -what is it?" kind of a look :-)

the eyes glaze over the whites can become pinky n colour and only way I describe it is they look as if they have cataracts.. sit very close to you and stare into space.

Not all bitches have "the look" though !

Have to say I've never seen it.
As others have said they don't all do it but my girl was very clingy and just sat as if in a trance, looking " spaced out" or if she had been a human as if she had had a good alcoholic drinking session.

My girl did it a bit with her first litter, particularly just near the actual point of whelping you could see her saying 'ouch, what's going on!'
