I was driving home from town this morning, short bit of dual so I overtook the car in front, glanced across and...............................there was a JR looking at me out of the drivers side window
I DID check it wasn't left hand drive... but no it was some stupid woman with the dog standing on her lap as she happily drove at 55 on a main road.

How does it go.......I don't belieeeeve it.

What is wrong with people?! Having said that where I work I always see kids clambering all over moving cars so if they can't be bothered securing their kids in the car I guess there's no chance with them bothering to secure their dogs.

Theres a woman living near us drives with her three poodles on her knee , I wish the police would stop her and fine her as she is not in proper control of the vehicle as they are barking at everything that passes.

I know a few people who do that with puppys and toy breeds. ive drove with an animal on my lap when taking a collpsed mouse to the vets and when my budgie collapsed, just grabed them and jumped into the car. Allthough i will admit i have driven in the past with my bird on my sholder, shouldnt i know and dont do it with the current bird.

I just don't get how they can do it!

If I have Raine in the back and she's getting giddy, she squeaks and shrieks and she's at least a foot away from my head - that is distracting enough.  I just can't fathom how anyone could put up with yapping dogs on their laps!

Stupid They call themselves dog lovers....How blindly stupid love can be...like those who drive with a window wide open and the dog hanging out...do they not care about thier dogs...how easy to have an eye out on a flicked up stone or a twig from the hedge...
Mine are safe behind a rear guard and a tailgate guard.

I had two friends who saw nothing wrong with driving with their dogs on their knees, one was a Beagle, the other was an OES ! he was just ickle at the time mind.
We also have some twonk from the neighbouring village who goes jogging with his Lab along the main road with no lead, poor dog nearly got knocked down the other weekend when she veered onto the road to avoid my neighbour who was chatting to me on the pavement, all the cars started sounding their horns as the owner was oblivious, stupid git just gave the cars a cheery wave and called his dog back in, bloody fool.

We have one like that around here, but worse this one cycles with his dog having to trot off lead along the pavement and cross the roads.

There are lost of signs on the lamp posts saying £500 fine for off lead dogs.

No laws or by-laws are any use unless there is proper enforcement.  A few well publicised finings might have more effect in making people aware/comply.
