I'm desperate to book a holiday, but need some help.  We're looking to go abroad to a good four star or five star hotel, all inclusive with good food and good facilities for a nearly four year old.  Nice pool areas, clean and within walking distance of some shops or something, somewhere it will be hot in the beginning of June.  I fancied Caletta de Fuste in Fuerteventura (have been to Corralejo a few times and fancied a change) but am struggling with hotels.  We went to Tenerife in November, but although the hotel was lovely, there was nothing to walk to and the beach was black and not very nice.

Has anyone been anywhere that ticks all our boxes that they would recommend?

Whister, Lanzerote was somewhere I've never fancied.  Probably something to do with it's old nickname of Lanze'grotty'.  I daresay things have changed now and they have some nice places.  Will have a look thanks.

Santa Susanna on the Costa Brava is lovely and clean , we have stayed in a couple of different hotels there . You can walk to Malgrat and Pineda where there are shops , but the best thing is the train which runs along to Barcelona where the shopping is great and ( we also went to the zoo ) and it doesn't cost much :) . I always wanted to meet Snowflake the white gorilla , I was lucky and got to meet him he was lovely but sadly he died :( not too long after .

Have a look at Sunny Beach in Bulgaria.  Not the sort of place that you would initially think of but I went 18 months ago with a friend and their small son and we stayed in a Rui Hotel right on the sea front.  The place we went to was right on the beach front (ie Sunny Beach lol) and was beautiful white sand a lovely blue sea.  Short walk into the main town and places to go and visit (the old town was fantastic).  The hotel had decent entertainment and evening things going on and the kid club was excellent.  Food was fab and the hotel rooms we clean and well presented.  Well worth looking into.

Would definately recommend :)  Have also a look on Trip Advisor for their hotel reviews, they are quite accurate as far as Ive found.

We are off to sunny Benidorm in a few weeks with 6 small kids all inclusive.  I will let you know if I recommend the hotel!!
On another note, do google earth to research areas.  My dad is practically a local he has went up and down streets, and visited the beach, sought out local restaruants.  It is great for checking out holiday resorts.

Salou is great for young kids. We took my daughter a couple times.  The beach is beautiful and really spotless, plenty of shops  and it is flat for walking around ( easier for kids too) Portaventura is genuniely really good.

I think Benidorm is also very good for families, beach again lovely and plenty shops.

I am off to Gran Canaria on Saturday ( Masplaomas Princess) and off to Tenerife 30th Nov ( Vulcano Hotel)
