Does anybody know where I can get Furminator for long haired GSD.?  the official site only accepts orders from USA and Canada

Loads advertised on Ebay as well as online pet stores like Doggie Solutions, can't remember where I got mine from as it was a while ago

Ebay is fab.  I got a genuine one on there for short-coated dogs (was for one of my dobes) for £5.  Fantastic :-)

Beware of ebay, if its cheap its almost definately a fake.  I bought one for £7.00 and it snapped after a month, it also stripped the coat from one of my normal coated GSD's.  I took it to my vets who sells them and on close inspection its a fake. Sometimes you get what you pay for! :-)

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't it a case of longcoated GSD not having a double coat? The Furminator must never be used on breeds that don't have double coats.

I got mine on Ebay for a tenner including postage, been one of the best things I've ever bought -use it on 7 Malinois, one Golden and two Malinois crosses, had it a few years now and couldn't be without it.

Some long coat gsd have double coats some dont. i must say i hadnt heardthat the furminator cant be used on a dog without a double coat. I got mine a discover dogs not furminator but similar £13. They are often sold at county shows and places like that

The Furminator works by removing undercoat so therefore will damage the coat if it is single. There is a warning on the packaging.

Yes thats logical when I think about it silly me, fortunately my longcoat gsd does have a double coat.
Dont think there was anything on my packet but then it wasnt a real furminator

On the official site it does have types listed for short coated breeds - surely not double coated?

Mine was bought in any case to get Soli's moulted coat out, for a brown dobe hers is quite thick and following a change of food, had gone ginger - changed the food again and all the ginger had moulted out but not fallen out.

Really need to find the damn thing now as it's happened again...
