I was eating blueberries last night (Love 'em) and pup thought she would like to try one..she loves them too.. But does anyone know if they are OK for dogs? The girls all pick blackberries of the bushes with no ill effects I wouldn't like to let her have something that was not good for her but I am not sure about blueberries. She loves apples too and will knick them out of the fruit bowl if she can get away with it. I do give her one occasionally. Her Aunty steals bananas and peels them...first her Mum knows is when she finds the skin in the garden LOL Even Granny Pepsi who is not keen on fruit ate a blueberry. And snooty Merlot who is very funny about what she likes unless it's raw meat ate a blueberry. Aileen
They should be fine as I often give all kinds of berries we have left that are past their sell by date and look a little bit ropey.
They also do PYO as we go for walks and eat blackberries and often used to help themsleves up at the allotment with rasberries and loganberries , strawberries and blackcurrants !
blueberries are fine, might get blue poops if loads is consumed. My dogs used to eat them straight from the bushes or the clever ones would just stand at the bucket and eat the ones their mummy has picked for them :) had to use a lid because of this...
exactly, we would often come home with a full "human" bucket and many half "dog" buckets when one of them had got their nose in one and slobbered it so it was not fit for human consumption :)
Beetroot boiled and sliced is my girls very favourite food but we always have an extra portion of veg for her even if we are having a lazy tea beans on toast etc seng must have her veg1
