Hi My Nephews wife lost her 11yr old? Bichon Frise  a little while ago...... she has decided that she is ready for another dog she has done her homework on the breed and she wants to have a Yorkshire Terrier Bitch
There is no rush she would like to do things properly..... would anyone know of any good breeders she could get in touch with and what sort of price range would she be looking at
Thanks Annie

Hi,
The price range starts around £600 for a good quality puppy but it can vary.
The way in which we found our breeder (Different Breed) was to join the Breed club, the link is here
http://www.the-yorkshire-terrier-club.co.uk/.
They often have links to breeders on their site and your newphew's wife could try to get out to some shows and have a look and talk to some breeders there :)
Also check out the champ dogs breeders page as there are lots of websites and contact details to see if there are any litters coming up.
Good Luck

I've just helped a friend find a Yorkie pup. I had to steer her away from so many "teacups", "Miniture" and "Toy" Yorkie pups, in the end I gave her the contact details for our local Yorkshire Terrier Breed Club and she found exactly what she wanted - a tiny, healthy KC Reg. male of 8 months. The breeder doesn't advertise but waits until the right owner comes along. I reckon if she'd been the unscrupulous type she could have sold him for £1000 as a "Teacup"! (My friend paid less than half that).

There are lots of Yorkie breed Clubs so it's worth starting with the one nearest to your nephew.
