Hi

I would appreciate any useful tips please. I have a labrador of just over 1yrs old. His sister is of a good weight but I feel that he is slightly underweight. He is about 26kg and could do with a bit more coverage around his chest cavity. I know that I should not force maturity on a dog but I just think that he could do with alittle more weight.
I have put him on a Skinners gluten free diet as it has more fat in than most normal dog foods. Before that he was on Skinners Ruff and Ready. Nothing seems to make any difference. He is wormed regularly. He is a very active dog
Any advice would be appreciated.

At a year old he still has some maturing to do, so I wouldn't want to try to put extra weight on him, especially considering his breed! The majority of labs we see at work are overweight - one the correct weight is a rarity.

How easy is it to feel his ribs? You should be able to feel them quite easily, but they shouldn't be sticking out. When you look down on him can you see a distinct waist between his chest and his hips? If so he sounds about the right weight for him.
