One of them seems constipated - yet the other is very runny.
Will ring the vets - just wondered what everyones thoughts were ? :-(

Has Mum eaten anything different or been wormed, unwell???? Mind you puppy poo is normally pretty runny, like Mustard.
Hi my mentor told me to give my pups natural yogurt this really did the trick
> Mind you puppy poo is normally pretty runny, like Mustard.
Gosh, mine are all completely solid, like miniature normal poos! I must be very lucky!!! LOL
I was marvelling the other day actually, at how they can make such nice firm poos, when all they are drinking is mother's milk. You wonder where the 'fibre' content comes from...

Its more like toothpaste consistency and that's how it comes out under stimulation.

It was like toothpasteconsistancy, but this is now quite watery and squirting out (sorry to be graphic).I have spoken to my vet,who has given us ProKolin which we have just given to her - and some infacol to another baby who was constipated.Gosh - This worry is adding years to me! Im hoping its just cos she is due to be wormed ? Mum is eating alsorts to entice her to eat,Mums stools are fine.So worried, will keep weighing baby every few hours and keep her on nipples longer to ensure she dosent dehydrate

She has had one shot of the pro kolin and has still been runny all day , at tonights weigh in she has still managed to gain an ounce (30G) - Not a huge gain, still very worried though. What do you think it could be ? how long does the Pro Kolin take to kick in usually?

Never used kaolin in dogs but in humans you keep taking it till the gripes/runs stop.
What did the vet say as to dosage and frequency?
I'd use the ProKolin every 8 hours / 3 times a day until the poohs firm up.

agree with Belgianique.
I dose 3 times a day too. I always keep Protexin in stock (same thing.)

Yes,he said 3 times per day - she had her 2nd dose at 8pm,Poor thing, the look on her face when she took it.
How long usually before it makes a difference ?

Today all seemed to be looking up - still runny but not as much - then this afternoon another was runny! grr . .and now 2 more - so thats 4 in all.
Spoke to my breeder who said it could be stuff passed down from Mum as she has been eating all sorts as we were worried about her eating.
So upset :-( wanted to start worming today and am now so worried about them all - though they are still gaining weight and playing.

Could Mum have brought something in from outside which is now being passed on to the pups who are more vulnerable.
Did the vet mention isolating any pups with the runs to stop it spreading.
Any signs of worms in what they are passing? If not then I wouldn't stress their systems any more by worming them until things settle.

Vet seemed to think it might be what we are feeding mum passing through, its now 5 with the runs, though all gaining weight.First one with symptoms is getting slowly firmer after her 4th Pro Kolin syringe :-(
Is this sort of thig usual ? or am I being a terrible Mum ? :-(
I had this with my last litter but they were a wee bit older and I suspect they just found something in the garden to eat
Not the nicest thing puppies with the squits, we ended up changing the food they were eating as well as giving pro-kolin to the one that was worst
Hope they improve, good luck
I think they are just like human babies in that what mum eats might not affect her but can effect the babies as their digestive system isnt as mature. My litter all became quite runny around the 7-10 day mark. This seems to be quite a common time for this to happen, I was told this is when mums milk can become much richer and this is why. I found as soon as the pups were wormed they all firmed up.
Are you still wiping mum down after she's been in the garden.
Hope pups are better today for you. Have you had any sleep yet? Hope so.

took stool samples and a pup to the vet on Tuesday - vet said pup was healthy but stools were runnier than he liked so he has given us some Synulus drops.
Also said to worm all the pups,so now they are all a bit lose from the wormer - but still all gaining weight and now day 18... It's killing me being on edge all the time.
Was also made redundant on Monday to add insult to injury ! uurgh

Sorry to hear about your job.
I hope after the worming is over they all settle down and get back to normal, it will be time to start weaning soon which can cause more upset so best get over this first.

its been a tough week , all pups gainging weight and well in their selves, but vet advised to worm so have done and we still have runny motions :-( 20 days old tomorrow and was going to start introducing real food - but don't know what to do :-(
Wondering if its Mums milk even though we have stopped adding anything to her food.
Have just noticed a few lumps in one of her back teats . . . .Urghh

ok, watch out for mastitis, as it could make her very poorly.

Yes,thats what I'm worried about :-(
I possibly saw it in my girl, massaged her teats and got babies on it, it broke the lump up and disappeared.
You could give the babies some natural yoghurt off your finger to help settle their tums orgive them some more Prokaolin.
