Ok - this might be a daft question - but this is my first litter so what the hell!
Day 9 - lots of random yells and squeaks from the whelping box - normal ? or should i be worried ? - all eating etc fine

check puppies are not too hot or cold ... extremely pink noses and paws ..too hot, poor colour lying in a bunch.. too cold some  puppies are noisey usually when feeding.. depends on the noise , is it a seagull type cry  or just figety puppies..?

Its more moaning and whinging - the sound they make when searching for a nipple - with the odd woof , wouldnt say its a seagull cry. They are going longer between feeds.Up until yesterday they were so content,I think they are now,i think they are just finding voices - but not sure and as its my first time I'm so frightened I'd miss the signs for fading puppy syndrome

Are they getting frustrated because they can't find the nipples? Do you help them if they can't? Do they make the noise only when they are looking or at other times too?

up until yesterday only when they couldnt find nipples and I'd help them find. But today they are very lively, walking round the box and just jibbering and moaning a little when in the box inbetween feeds

Mine did it when they needed toileting, mum got a little tired, i think it must have been the seagul cry.  thats sorted now so rather contented.  it kept me awake because i couldn't here them lol.  They could be a little frightened i suppose.

Surprized I've managed on so little sleep.
