I have done a search on this subject and 2 threads mention feathering but not what it is or how or why you do it.
"Feathering" is the technique used to encourage contractions which may have become sluggish or stopped to get going again provided that the female isn't distressed or making you concerned in any other way.
Before I start I give some nutridrops/vet drops and Calciboost to give extra energy to carry on and ensure she is not lacking in nutrients/supplements
You lubricate a gloved finger or 2 [depends on breed size] and stroke the front wall of the vagina[opposite to back wall which is nearer the rectum], if it is going to work then the contractions will get stronger/ restart in seconds and things should progress.
Most females will have a rest between pups/horns and need that time but if she has been resting for an hour or more then it is worth giving it a go to see if you can kick start things.
Hope this helps anyone in future who may need some advice not easy to find if you don't know about it in the first place
