Hi guys

I've just bought all my plant pots ready. The guy down the toad used to have pots and baskets everywhere but the plants in them were huge and covered completely in patunia looking flowers but I remember him saying they were nt like the ones u get in b and q etc but can't remember what he said they were called and he sadly passed away last month so can't ask him.

As I say they look like patunia but there was 1000's of flowers on them and his hanging baskets would be about three foot wide the time all the flowers came out. Does anyone have an idea on what it cud be? X

Could it have been petunia tidal wave?  :-)

Might they be surfinia Petunias?  The secret to getting the baskets looking really full is to plant up lots in each basket, and remember to feed regularly when they are established.   Surfinias come in lots of the usual petunia colours and you can get single and double flowered ones.  If you are looking for a prolific but smaller flowered plant then Million Bells are a sort of mini surfinia.  Ebay is a great place to get good quality plug plants - just check out the feedback before bidding.  ?You can save £££s against the prices from the big catalogue/online nurseries.
