One of the people who had a puppy from me apparently doesn't like the name I gave it and wants to change it. I know it is possible to do so but I had a theme for my litter and the name they would like doesn't fit with the theme. Can they change it anyway or do I have to give my permission?

Only you can change it, they cannot change it, even with your permission...

Just to add that I'm pretty sure there's also a time limit (I think 1 month) for name changes and a fee (or at least that was the case) ... I wanted to change name of my oldest bitch as breeder had spelt her name incorrectly, so I'm now resigned to the English version of the Gaelic name I wanted :-(

It has to be done within 12 weeks, so they could be too late. And just a thought - if you check on the KC website their choice might not be available, so they couldn't have it even if you agreed to a change.

I wanted to change mine too as the breeder had spelt my boys name incorrectly, she wouldn't change it even though I offered to pay any costs.. Makes no odds really does it at the end of the day.. I still call him what I call him as a pet name..
