If I was you I'd be calling her breeder. They would be the best people to suggest a suitable mate for your girl. They would know the lines, the type, and be able to give you help and advice on the whole process.

Next stop would be the breed club. Are you a member? Always an excellent place to start.

After that, I would be attending as many shows as possible, to see the dogs in person, and getting an appreciation of what makes a "good dog".

Oh, not to forget, that many puppies are sold with endorsements on their registration. Please make sure this isn't in place. If it is, her breeder is the only one who can "lift" the endorsement.

Have you asked the advice of her breeder, they should have a good knowledge of the past lines used and give you an idea of where you should be looking. Make sure any enforcements have been removed from her registration before she is mated and to have this done it is possible the breeder will want to see the bitch.

Sorry a case of Snap. At least we have not contradicted one another.

You definitely need more advice that just looking for a stud dog.......  If her breeder is experienced, then that's the best place to start.

I suspect that many bitch owners of your breed will be looking for stud dogs after the recent Crufts win and that the market will be flooded ....... :(

Sadly that is only too true WestCoast - would think the owners of studs are only going to allow their dogs to be used on the very best of bitches so working or showing will be important when asking to use a suitable dog. But first things first start with the breeder and research in to what gene you need to use.

Thank you for your advice i've emailed the breeder.I've been planing to breed her for some time hense she's already been hip scored and i'm not taking the process lightly and have researched about breeding it just happens that the breed won crufts.

It is your bad luck that your breed won Crufts as it will make the stud owners even more particular. However providing your bitch is well bred and has done well working or in the ring you should be able to find a stud. Hopefully your breeder will be able to help with the lines you should be looking at to complement you bitch.

Yes I would second that.  Pups from a successful bitch in the field or in the show ring will be much sought after.  It'll be the unproven pet bitches owners that will have problems finding good homes for their puppies.
