Hiya
I posted about my bitch having a spilt season am pleased to say she has produced 2 girls so far for me she had the first one at 18:10 and the next at 18:55.
How long shall is the max time before i should take her to the vets!! Its only my second litter!

Congratulations on the two girls so far. Someone will be along soon to help you out.

If there haven't been any contractions then I would suggest you take her out for a wee to see if the movement gets the next set of contractions going.  Make sure you take a torch and keep her on a lead to ensure she doesn't shoot off to deliver under a tree!  If my girls are slowing down a bit then I find that getting them to wander around the garden really helps.  If she has been contracting for most of that time then I would be ringing the vet!

One of my girls had a 3 hour break between the 1st and 2nd puppies, a brief trot around the garden really helped and she produced the 2nd puppy a couple of minutes later.  She went onto have 9 puppies in total with no help from the vet and no more 3 hour breaks!

I've seen a bitch go 3 hours between pups, it depends if she's relaxed or straining. I wouldn't let her go more that 30 minutes actively straining personally but I sure there will be people around with a lot more experience than me.
are you sure she's got more to come?
good luck,

Normally I would expect pups at regular intervals, if nothing for two hours and there are obviously pups to come a  vet visit would be a good idea.

I have had a stillborn pups born a few minutes after a live one obviously ran out of time with prior pup taking too long, and had a healthy surprise pup 8 hours after what was thought to be a  last one.

My girl went 3 hours 20 minutes betweens pups 5 & 6, but she was relaxed with a few gentle pushes, just moving things down in her own time.  She had 7 healthy pups without assistance.

Sophie had a short labor delivering 11 puppies in 3 hours with the longest period between pups being 30 minutes. But when sky had a litter she went 3 hours between her 7th and 8th puppy, if you are sure there are more puppies it might be worth a visit to the vets.

I have had almost 7 hours between pups.  Needless to say i was very worried and had attended the vets when a pup hadnt arrived after 3 hours after number 2,  but didnt actually see the vet as he was out.

The pup was 3 of a litter of 3.

I had feathered and the Bitch was not showing signs of distress during the 7 hours.

When the pup was born i was supriased as i'd thought everything was definitely done when no more pups arrived and mum settled down.   The pup was fine, healthy and thrived.

I wouldn't recommend not taking action as advised above, but this does go to show that sometimes things dont fit to what you expect.

I won't let mine go longer either.  I know that some people will allow more time, but I won't with my breed.
