I was happy to be able to sit and watch the working group and was surprised by some of the judges decisions.

One has to be the Newfoundland, he was clearly lame in walking, and also in moving around the ring, the handler had to move him that much quicker so it didn't notice so much. He shouldn't of been placed at all!!! BIG MOAN here.. With all the people watching from the KC and with all this fit for function going on, even though I know this dog is not normally lame he was in the ring at this point and therefore no group placing should of been given to him.

Anyone else think the same?

The Newfie didn't look lame to me any of the times I saw him in and out of the ring yesterday.  I know that dog fairly well and I agree that his movement was not up to his usual standard, particularly in the group.

If you go to the results page for the group the picture for the Newfoundland is actually the Rottie who came fourth :-)

Lol Harley see what you mean.. I do like the Newf, he is a great example of the breed but in the ring at that time he wasn't moving right(He was going down on his back leg) therefore no placing should of been given. I've had enough of lame dogs been given placings.

I honestly thought that the Malamute should of been placed, that was stunning..

I agree, the Mal would have been my first and the Newf was definitely unsound on the day. Being strung up and having his head jerked off with a tight lead did not help the poor dog either. Several of the Working Group were not moving at their best.

I know I am alittle biased,but Enzo (Sue Ellis's Malamute)was looking great on Friday and a huge cheer went up when Enzo took BOB out of an entry of over 160 and a strong oversees entry.One of Sues breeding had BPIB.About time another Mal won the working group.Must be about 5 years ago when the Spanish Mal from the Zulem kennels in Spain won the group only to be latter disqualified.(a couple of years if I remember correctly.)

I really liked the Buhund but think I may be biased also liked the Mal & Aussie - also thought both the other spitz were better than the dog that won but as an ex GSD owner perhaps I am letting my disappointment show as I really was disillusioned in the dog he may be very fit but IMO does not fulfil the breed standard really pleased I do not have to judge them.

I will be cheering on the Flattie and the PBGV ..I fell for her big style..

Yes I agree The PGBV looks superb as an added Bonus, Sara and her sister used to show Rough Collies as youngsters ( my first breed).!
