Thought it might be a good idea to start a Crufts traffic thread....If anyone knows of any road works etc that may be a problem please feel free to add them....

M42 South J10 - J9 road works and 50mph speed restriction...gets very busy between 7.30am and 9.30am

Look on the bright side Sue, we should be at our benches way before the morning rush hour starts :-P

Not sure which is worse, Friday night or Sunday night for travelling back Sowf.

Oh and why does it always rain on the M6 when travelling back to Manchester?

Do you mean to say that there are times it stops? :)

Last Sunday I travelled from Telford to Heathrow with my windscreen wipers on full speed, the spray on the motorways (M54/M6/M42/M40/M25) was unbelievable and idiots were driving without lights or only sidelights on.

I believe the sliproad at Jct 9 M25 northbound is closed nights til 6am til the end of March.

A friend and I were discussing the trials & tribulations of travelling to the NEC on the Friday and we would like to find (some hope) an experienced, safe driver with a big vehicle to seat 5 people & 5 dogs safely. We would leave early, & be dropped off at the entrance of the NEC. The driver would then get himself a coffee & breakfast, kip in the vehicle til 5 & pick us up at the main entrance. We could then sleep all the way home & the driver would be fresh as a daisy from resting all day. My OH doubted if this was viable even if 5 of us each paid what it would cost us individually in fuel to get there and he offered to Parcel Force me up there instead - he's all heart!

Sorry I digress. Have a safe journey everyone.

The journey down is usually not to bad for us ..I just hate the queue of traffic once you arrive waiting to park.... another tip dont wait at the first ticket box.... when you walk up a bit there is always boxes with no one waiting to pay.!

Another thing that I think is appauling is all the dog poo .... I always pick up ....how  some dog owners  leave it baffles me.... lets us all down badly IMO

Good luck to all the peeps showing on Thursday .....good luck and have a great day!
