Has anyone been watching this, they have tried to jazz it up like the other countries but i think they have failed.
One of the ladies on there making pasta had bright red nail varnish on , and she want to be a professional chef?
Realy quite boring compared to the Australian one.

I'm normally an avid watcher of Masterchef, but this one's just failed to hold my attention.
Know what you mean about the nail polish though, it used to drive me mental when The Two Fat Ladies used to cook with nail polish on, I wouldn't have touched anything they had cooked, it would be full of chipped nail varnish and fag ash lol.
Australian Masterchef was the best one - because I liked the Chefs, I didn't like the New Zealand one because I couldn't warm to the chefs. The new jazzed up English version just isn't as good as the Aussie one :( I like it when Michele Roux is on it.

My husband loves the new format but it leaves me cold, I haven't seen the Australian version so can't comment.
The Australian one was fab, the contestants were really great characters the competition was taken everywhere , London , Paris, Army etc , our lot seem to cry at the drop of a hat , really awful, so far challenges medioka, and the food that they produce is being bettered by the juniors !!

I hate the new format, what was wrong with the old? I am hoping that when we get the finalists they will stop all the sob story tv and it will be back to normal!

I thought it made a nice change but it wasn't the same without Michele Roux Jr -not to mention Monica! Made it a bit too soft.

I like Greg and John :-D

Monica drives me mad with all the eye widening and face pulling!!
I like Greg and John too. Not keen at all on the new format - a bit too X-factor for my liking.

I have enjoyed the change although somehow its more obviously contrived.....marching them in in their ranks etc.
Also the pronounciation of 'Torode' is grating as it is a Guernsey name and not the way we like to hear it!
Nail polish doesn't worry me as much as what could be underneath the nails.

How should it be pronounced Karen?

Less emphasis on the second o or syllable. Toh rode.
They are saying more of a T'rode
Karen :)

Thanks for that
