Hi All.
Feeling a bit stressed about my pups eye. I brought him home from breeder at eight weeks, then at 10 weeks i noticed a bit of a change in his left eye, but i couldn't exactly say why it looked different but it just did. He is now 12 weeks and this morning his left eye looks totally different to the right eye, when i looked closer the black part in the eyeball is massive compared the the right eye and even the colured part of the eye is a different coloure to his right eye. Does anyone know or has had this problem before???

Concern about or damage to the eye should be seen by a vet immediately - You may have to see an emergency vet but I would pick the phone up now.

My above post sounds alarmist, not meant to but eye damage can go from simply to complicated quickly and vet attention should be sought asap.

It sounds like you are describing that one pupil is dilated and that it has been getting worse, or happened a while ago.  Have you noticed it react to light at all?  I'd be seriously worried and I agree with Nova - don't hang around on this one.  Ring the vet for an appointment and, in the meantime keep your pup in low light til you get there.

Incidentally have you discussed this with your breeder?  A good breeder should always be available to you for advice and can be really helpful in emergencies.  Hope all is OK :)

It is difficult not to sound alarmist but uneven pupils can mean a problem within the head not necessarily a problem with the eyes but it needs Vet attention and now, if it's nothing that is good but I would rather look a fool than let one of my dogs suffer for a moment longer than needed.
