This is a bit of a strange one but our boy now 8 months old had developed quite a case of achene on his only about 2/ 3 weeks ago which in turn got infected he went onto antibiotics but his fur has fallen out in the worst effected area's around his head and shoulders. So it looks like he is going to be out f the ring for the next few months :(
This is a bit of a long shot but I remember in the older dog world papers there used to be an advert for a product that helped with the re growth of fur, there was always a before and after picture but the advert is no longer in the newer paper or at least I cant see them, does anybody remember what brand it was or could they suggest a good product.
Thanks

I think you may be talking about Dermacton?

Iv just google it and it looks right, but the description it says for itchy skin but, Draco isnt itching or irritating his skin at all so it might not be right for him, has anybody come across this type of problem before and how have you managed it? He essentially has lumps or spots under his fur that come to a head then burst which as a result the fur falls out. He doesn't even know its there but it is a bit unsightly the vet doesn't seem worried I just don't want to end up with a bald dog LOL.

Camrosa?

Have you used this before? The vet is reluctant to give any creams as he doesn't want to effect the hair growth or colour as Draco is shown, our older boy had a hot spot last year on his head and the hair grew back much darker so he looks a bit 2 toned, as draco is a light fawn with a clear coat I am a bit worried about it comming back darker in the effected area's.
This product does look more promising though as it does talk about the fur.
Thankyou

Yes I've used it as have friends once hot spots have cleared up. All of us show too and have no negatives regards coat difference when it grows back.
It just promotes coat growth. I purchased the whole kit as the shampoo is also very good.
What about cornucrescine? (Original Hoof ointment)
It's a hoof ointment for horses and horses hooves are just hardened hair.
It smells aniseed like and is brown, bit like a vaseline consistency.
A 95 gramme pot will cost between £5-6.
It aids re-growth of hair.
Bit of an old fashioned remedy but it does work,
the other old fashioned one is Bob Grasses Skin Cure, stinks to high heaven
but has worked too.

We've had good results with Quistel lotion spray. Always keep a bottle in the cupboard now!
