Im new to the forum.

I have a toy breed that is 6 weeks pregnant. This is my first litter, my bitch is a good size for breeding very healthy, raw fed
and I did alot of research on lines and also my studs lines. I think they both compliment each other beautifully.

Ive been trying to read up on raspberry leaf and weather it helps with whelping or not? Some people say it does and some say dont bother.

I wondered if anyone had any thoughts on this?

We always used to give raspberry leaf to the Boxers but to be honest they always (apart from one c section) had trouble free births, so it's hard to say if it helped or not. 

I have always used raspberry leafs tablets also with 1 c-section as well so again hard to say.  But you are suppose to give the tablets 3weeks post mating for it to help.  There is also a homepathic remedey you can give to aid contractions, can't remimber the name but you can get it from Dorwest Herbs.

The homoeopathic remedy from Dorwest which may assist during delivery is Caulophyllum 30C.  We've never used it so can't say if it helps.

I used raspberry leaf for my own pregnancy last year and had a very quick easy labour. It doesnt do any harm to try it.

I used it on my bitch and she had 5 pups trouble free, no harm in using it.

used it for 3 litters and had trouble free deliveries, then a lot of neg reports stopped me from using it on my last litter (3years ago) and a bitch thats first litter had a lovely trouble free delivery with raspberry leaf, ended up with a section due to failure to progress on her second litter when i DIDNT use it !!! co-incidence maybe, but when I next breed a bitch I will def be using it xx

Now I'm curious, what were the negative reports?
I used to use it for my cats when I was breeding and had no problems with it.

Lots of different reactions and comments.  I used it back in the 70's with no luck, and have never bothered with it since!

I started giving her half a tsp once a day. I figure it cant hurt but could do some good.

Think your ment to start using it 3 weeks after mating, dont quote me on that. My bitch is 6 + 2 days so we are a bit late starting. Hopefully it will do some good

I started mine this week at 5wks.  We're a little late.  i was advised to start at 4wks.

No, its tablet in tablet form.
