Topic Dog Boards / General / Help! Home Boarding or Kennels for Rottweiler South East
- By Little Toots [gb] Date 15.02.11 17:01 UTC
Hi,

I have a 4 year old Rottweiler who I have never put in kennels before. I am due to go on holiday in June for 10days and am not keen on the idea of leaving him in kennels. I have looked for a home boarder but have been turned down by 2 I could find locally! I did have another offer but unforunately the lady lives too far away :-( Please can anyone reccomend any where in the South East preferably Sussex, Kent, Surrey areas who could look after him??! Or a kennels that have good reputation and experience of Rottweilers? He is well socialised and plays well with most other dogs!

Hope you can help!!

I have used Pet Lodge Boarding Kennels in Whitstable and have been pleased with them - dogs had two separate weekends there but not a longer stay. You can just call in to view them without an appointment between certain hours of the day.

Thanks Harley, I had a quick look on their website, looks quite good, do you know if someone is on site 24 hours? Really don't want to put him in kennels for 10 days but may have to if can't find anything suitable and close enough.
Thanks again!

Starryeyes- yes I did consider a house sitter but don't really like the idea of someone being in my house who I don;t know. Thanks anyway though.

Hi Suejaw, Which home boarder company were you thinking of? I've contacted Animals at Home as they had been suggested just waiting to hear back. I'll PM you my details and perhaps your friend may be able to help! Is she close to Sussex area?
Thanks

Hi cocopop,
My breader would probably have been able to help but she lives in the North West as I was living in the North East when I bought him!
Thanks anyway though.

The kennels is next door to their house - they live on site. My friend left her dog there for the weekend and he developed bloat after his evening feed. They noticed straight away and dog was rushed to the vets and operated on all before they had managed to contact my friend to tell her - their speedy action saved his life.

Give them a ring and ask any questions you may have - I am sure they will be able to answer anything you ask.

Pals4Pets in Sussex is the company i've used before and very happy with the services. My boys went to a couple in Burgess Hill.

Friend is based in Sussex, have sent PM back with basic details on her location etc.

Hi, the kennels I use for my 3 Rotties is Beaux Aires - they're in Yelding which is just off Detling Hill in Kent. Family run business, lovely people, and the dogs love it. My boy has "issues", but even he loves it there, and they're happy to have him. On his 3rd visit, he was so excited he managed to climb over to the back seats of the car and out the window, which was only down by about 5 inches to let some air in.

I've used a very small luxuryboarding kennel in North Kent before near Eynsford, just off the M25.  They only take a couple of dogs at a time and the service is fab. Huge suites and loads of love and exercise etc.  Their number is 01322 664000.
