Hetty did her first Rally obedience trial today (and Ellie's 2nd), Hetty's puppy run was first, she didn't do a proper down, naughty girl, and I lost a lot of marks luring the heelwork which still needs work. But she got 175 which is a 'Good' (it goes Good, Outstanding, Ace) and more importantly is a qualifying score towards her puppy title. Ellie went next in Level 1A and did a brilliant run apart from me having a stupid moment on one sign and having to redo it, and she got 195 which is an Ace. Then after lunch Hetty had her 2nd run, her heelwork was all over the place but she did a brilliant down and some good sits, and a fantastic recall including waiting while I left her and turned round. They must have had a lot of leeway for extra commands in that one as she got 192 and her first Ace score! And then Ellie did her last run, another excellent one with just a few crooked sits, and she got 202 which was another Ace. So that's 2 qualifying scores for each dog, they only need one more each to get their 'Title' and start working towards 'Champion'!!

Brilliant! And yes it sounds like such fun!!

It is great fun, I totally recommend it to anyone who wants to do something fun with their dogs but hasn't got the right mindset to get the utter precision needed for formal obedience.
