i wonder if this happened to the fox hounds when they banned hunting?
- By Boody Date 08.02.11 21:58 UTC
They can't can they :( sick awful people.
- By helenmd [gb] Date 08.02.11 22:01 UTC
Its disgustingly cruel isn't it? I see the company involved no longer do sled dog rides,I hope they are prosecuted and go out of business.
- By Carrington Date 09.02.11 08:46 UTC
It's downright murder and should be treated as such. There is a huge difference between a vet euthanising humanely which could have been done if there was no hope of re-homing them (though they don't seem to have tried) they horrifically murdered them.

They need locking up.
- By Celli [gb] Date 09.02.11 12:58 UTC
Unbelievable !!!, the excuse for a man who carried out the killings needs locking up, and he had the gall to go looking for compensation !, give me a locked room and a baseball bat and I'll give him compensation all right !
- By chaumsong Date 09.02.11 13:16 UTC
Its absolutely horrific, but to claim compensation?!? :(

> give me a locked room and a baseball bat and I'll give him compensation all right

I'm sure you don't mean that :) That would make you no better than him, worse possibly because you would be harming a human.

I doubt any hounds got culled as the hunts are still very active just not hunting foxes :-)

Terrible story :-(

- By toffeecrisp [gb] Date 09.02.11 17:38 UTC
it beggers belief..mans best friend...hmmmm, certainly not dogs best friend in this instance.
- By Heidi2006 Date 09.02.11 20:06 UTC
What about the person who gave the order?  Much more to blame I think.
- By JAY15 [gb] Date 09.02.11 21:26 UTC
When it comes to court (there shouldn't be an if), the company directors should be jailed. Not one of them, or the man who carried out the killings, deserve to be called human. If the vet has already refused to put down healthy dogs, how on earth can anyone accept a sham 'company policy' that in future they will get a vet to do this? If the employee who did their dirty work hears those dogs till his dying day I think that will be no less than he deserves.

I totally agree, to blame that he was following orders is a crap excuse for him partaking in this barbaric act and i hope it torments him forever.

What about the people who paid for this holiday experience?or continue to do so?I find it hard to believe that this one man ,was so driven to kill all those dogs, when he could have been driven to do everything he could to save them.
I dont know what his punishment should be,but it sounds like he won't be sleeping very well, and he has to live with what he has done, even if he gets compensation,he will soon find that no amount of money can bring you peace of mind.
Hard to understand, how many of us have accidently trod on our dogs tails and have felt terrible about it,giving hugs and kisses and apologies, and another person can slit a dogs throat, and then another and another, and not feel any emotion.

another person can slit a dogs throat, and then another and another, and not feel any emotion.

And then claim compensation for it! There are many things an employer may ask an employee to do, but what kind of person would accept or think it ok to cause fear, panic and pain to an animal, only when he can't get the screams, the image of fear and blood from his memory does he dare to claim for compensation. Any person with an ounce of decency would have reported the company for the way they were planning on disposing of their dogs, this man is worse than his employers because he could have stopped it.

I could have the best job in the world, but no-one could put a knife in my hand and say now go and slit those dogs throats, what kind of man was he? Why did the courts give him compensation? I think the world has gone crazy.
