Hi all I havent been on here for a while, been busy with the little poo machines. Hope you are all well.   Can you clarify for me when should a bitch be wormed before mating during pregnancy and afterwards. (sorry i know tech terms havent been used)

I worm my bitch and the rest of the dogs when she coems in season.

then from day 40 I start worming the bitch with Panacur 10% suspension (0.25ml per kg) until 2 days after whelping.

Sorry of course afterwards as the pups are den for the bitch,a dn I do all the other dogs too when the pups have all gone.  No wonder I buy Panacur by the litre.

Exactly the same here.  I use Panacur 10% suspension from day 40 of gestation up to 2 days post whelp.  Pups start at 14 days, and mum gets done again too.

Barbara has already given you the dose rate for a pregnant bitch.  If you are going to use the Panacur suspension for pups, don't forget that, although they are dosed for 3 days, it is only necessary to dose your bitch for one day, as she goes back to adult dosing, as opposed to pregnant bitch dosing.

I do Drontal my girls when they are due in season if I intend to breed from them.
