Looking for a jacket for Crufts any ideas.
- By Nova Date 01.02.11 19:06 UTC
Most the time you don't need one it can get very hot.

like nova said it can get very hot in there, last time i took a coat i was stuck carrying it around all day. im wareing a strappy top and hoody this year, last yeah wore a very thin jacket (just one from tessco) with a long sleve top.

Do you mean for handling in the ring? If so pick a colour that works with the dog's colour, show the dog off -very important for trousers as well! Most will wear a suit. Rest of the day you can take the jacket off -although if you're sat at benches and is near an exit it will get cold there. I was absolutely freezing one year.

Never wore a suit don't know where to look as don't have much time to look around. He is a blk tri.

For a tri how about grey?  Also good for black too.  I wear light brown or white in the summer for my black girl.  As for where, Next do suits or if the make clothes that fit you (my bums a bit big for their clothes) you could try Matalan, they sometimes do nice formal style trousers you could team with a blouse or top.

I will pockets for treats?
- By luddingtonhall [nl] Date 03.02.11 17:20 UTC
I always wear trousers with pockets, so I can put treats in one and a comb in the other. There are quite a few trousers around with pockets or you could get a moneybelt and use the pouch for treats.

I've just started having nail-biting moments about what to wear in the ring--we only started showing last year so feeling a little out of my depth to put it mildly! I was wondering about grey with my dog (red and white). Also, any good tips on shoes would be greatly appreciated!

flat shoes are a must and make sure they dont slip up and down as its quite a long run around the ring .

thanks STARRYEYES, I take it those are definitely shoes, not sneakers...will have to buy something soon then to break them in on time! :)

well if you want to wear trainers thats upto you if you have long pants on and they are not sparkling white then ..hey why not its personal preference.

I have black 'leisure' shoes that look a bit like trainers that I  sometimes wear at champ shows and would wear for crufts.#
I get really hot so now prefer to wear brown jeans and a nice top rather than a jacket , in a colour that tones well with my dog who is  light  brown and white.

Not being a show person, but I would have thought flat shoes were de rigeur in the ring - I was horrified to see Crufts on TV last year (the bit where they looked at the dogs from the floor - excellent angle, I thought).... so many people with high heels!   Firstly how can you run in heels (that's not rhetorical, I'd love to know!) and secondly, if you're as badly co-ordinated as me, how on earth do people avoid stabbing their own dogs' feet?
- By STARRYEYES Date 03.02.11 22:57 UTC
I know MsTemeraire I couldnt wear them not even a one or two  inch heel for running around the ring..plus it just doesnt look right..to me

I used to wear heels when I was younger and worked in an office .....and wore 5 inch heels for my nieces wedding last year but I wobbled quite a bit!!
- By ridgielover Date 03.02.11 23:04 UTC
I always used to wear heels and had no problem running round the ring in them (not stiletto types obviously!) I'm going to order some shoes from Hotter - they look really comfy and have a little heel so should be easy enough to run in.
