I had a debate about this the other day and everybody seemed to be of a different opinion, have looked in the red book and it isnt very clear.

If a dog is 12 months exactly on the one and only day of the show, is it still eligible for puppy competition?
12 months and one day would go into junior, but where is the cut off?

This happened a couple of years ago to a friend and her dog was 12 month on the day and should have been Best Puppy in Breed having won the junior class but the steward, judge and secretary disagreed and gave it to my puppy.

I must admit I didn't know if right or wrong at the time but on looking into after discovered I shouldn't have been given the award.

12 month on day of show = still a puppy,
if a puppy  is  unbeaten in any other classes by a puppy then it can also challenge for best puppy,
in uk this is,

i rem being in ireland once and a puppy was in junior,this coudnt challange for best puppy,the rule there was had to come from puppy classes,

The ruling is 12months on the 1st day of show, then it is still elligible to enter puppy... I have taken a RBPIS  with a pup who was 12months on the day...  It was not Exceeding 12 months.. it was 12months

The words say not exceeding 12 months, so if a pup is 12 months on the first day of the show... it is not exceeding 12 months, so can & would be able to enter puppy. As would it if it is a 2/3/4 day show on any of the other days.

Thats what I thought. Can settle the argument at ringcraft now.
