hi my girl has 9 pups they are 2weeks and 4days old ,since she had the pups and her food intake got more she started with the runs very bad she would only eat beta puppy! well for the 1st time her poo has gone hard, hubby went out and got naure diet yesterday (was for weaning pups lol )so tryed her with it and she eat the full tray with added water too i was shocked in a good way! it went down in 2sec :)
well i dont know how much to give her ,shes large breed weighing around 34kg before pups ,im weaning pups on this then adding pro plan to ther meal
so after a day of eating ND tonight ive added 100g of soaked pro plan in the ND and she didnt notise :) ive been giveing her 5 trays aday and now will add 100g to it also ive always left her some dry pro plan around just incase she gets hungry but she never touches it ,ive started weaning pups today with ND and they loved it ,just worried im giving her enough food??? she looks so so thin already and only coming up to 3rd week of her feeding them.
thanks xxx

I give my bitch as much as she can possibly eat and did put her on to 3 meals a day at one point because she didn't want to eat enough with 2 meals. She has hardly lost any condition and the pups at almost 5 weeks are lovely chunky little things. Medium sized breed by the way

Most of my girls will eat 5 meals a day.  I don't think it's breed specific, you give them what they need!  Have to say that I feed to appetite, so let them guide me.

Naturally - there is no comparison to quantity.  When I saw how much you were giving your girl I was amazed, but agree that doing it in 5 meals is the way to go.

Just to add that if she isn't eating the dry pro plan that you are leaving down, don't worry.  It may well be that giving it wet with the ND is more palatable.  And her mouth may well be sore from cleaning pups.

I weaned my last litter on nature diet... I put mum back on her own AG adult as the puppy AG gave her the runs. I also added scrambled eggs , mince- chicken (top grade from the butcher..cost a fortune),  fish , to keep her full , I gave her as much food as she wanted to eat ....this is the girl who's milk dried up, we tried our best to get it back but it didnt work although she still suckled the puppies.
I think the fact she ate well got her through the sickness after the birth, so I would suggest the best food you can give her the better

yes i will do that shes having cheese and chicken cooked if i give it raw she gets the runs shes not a fan of fish but likes her beef! she was abit loose yesterday so going to feed these foods inbteen her 4 meals now ,shes starting to look better and has more coverage over her ribs so the amount shes getting is good and now im starting to wean pups this should help mum too :) xxx
