Hi Again, My bitch mated the stud dog on days 8 and 10 of season ( pre mate testing showed to be right time). However she continues to bleed , now on day 13, although the colour is lighter red, almost pink. Is this something to worry about or can this be normal for a bitch who only comes into season once a year ?

Last season she continued to bleed post mating, and did not become pregnant, although I suspect we missed her early ovulation that time. Be interested to hear your views..

i remember worring afew years back 1 of our girls was mated day 11 and 13 she carried on bleeding still quite heavly till day 24 she went on to have a very big litter ,so bleeding after mateing doesnt mean she hasnt taken :) xxx

I had a girl who mated on days 10 and 12 , and continued to bleed until day 29 !!! She had a lovely litter of 5 healthy pups :-)
ps she was also a girl who went 12 months between seasons .

My girl bleeds right through whether mated or not....
