so my sister dyes her hair pink with henna, puts all the stuff in the bin, dogs obviously love the smell as mt kooikerhondje got into the bin to roll all in it and has 3 patches of pink on her not massive, but her muzzle has a pink glow to it. any help? as crufts is only 2 months away, i cant really cut it out as a kooiker should never be touched by scissors, thats the last resort.

I suppose you could try washing the area with shampoo every day, it might fade the colour out then.

I did find something on the internet that says you can remove henna with mineral oils then shampoo but it was for humans not dogs!

I've had some disasters before (my hair, not dogs'!).... head and shoulders does work well, but better still if you can shampoo it in and leave for 10 mins then rinse.... not sure if you'll have much luck doing that to a dog though!!

Vosene also strips hair dye out pretty fast - only tried on humans though- bet you could cry...

I like dying my hair silly colours and find fairy liquid used like shampoo strips dye from hair quite well (as long as you don't have sensitive skin) not sure if it would be ok for dog though, unfortunately pink tends to be one of the colours that lasts a long time, poor you :(

Maybe too late now but use a clarifyng shampoo on DRY hair before anything else.

Put a vegetable oil like sunflower (NOT a mineral oil like baby oil ever) on the stained hair.  Leave for an hour or better overnight, then dampen the area with warm water and shampoo out.  You may have to repeat several times.  It will fade it.   This method also works on paint including oil based gloss and acrylics, tree sap, tar, etc.

The other thing to try is to make a solution  of hot water and distilled vinegar (not malt) 50:50, soak the stained hair throughly with the solution and leave for 15 - 20 minutes then shampoo out using warm water.
