I recently had my hard drive replaced on my desk top and had to re-install most of my programmes.  I used to have Picture It 9 to edit my photos but don't seem to be able to get it now although still ok on my laptop.

Any recommendations for a free and easy alternative?

Is it not possible to get it from your Laptop and re-load it if it is the one you are used to.

No - I've tried that!  Comes up automatically when I go into edit a photo on laptop but not an option now.

you can download gimp 2.6 for free, its more simmaler to photoshop than microsoft picture it but itss not as powerfull as photoshop but then again its free. I use it on this laptop for touching up my photos and making banners for people on an online dog game and i like it, i want photoshop but at the price for the new one ill have to keep dreaming lol.

here is the website. Know quite a few people who have downloaded it with no problems.

Hi Barbara. Does it edit photos? and allow you to add such silly things as hats, frames etc... (You know what I mean).
Thanks Aileen

Have you tried picnic?? I think the website is www.picnic.co.uk

Its free and depending what you want to do with your pics I find it quite entertaining. You have the choice to pay to access more stuff but I find I never need to pay.

It certainly allows you to edit as in change the file size, physical size alter colour balance contrast etc and it has a library of effects, it does have add on for more stuff, and I expect the latest version probably has more stuff than before.

I use it as my default picture viewer which makes things easy no matter what programs you use to get your pictures (scanner, camera downloads etc).
