Does anyone know how I can get my CRB renewed? I cant remember how I got my last one (I think it was through work) but I now teach dancing privately (a group I set up myself to get kids off the street) and cannot get a CRB for this? Can anyone advise how to get one??

There does seem to be a large amount of information obtainable via a search engine - can't help personally though.

I have searched myself but it seems you have to be put forward to have your CRB done?? Thats why I was wondering if anyone else had similar problems?

Maybe its different between forces, but our local stations hand out the forms and do deal with part of the processing.

Our crb's are £38.00 but that could be the price for an enhanced one. Do you have to register with the local council or someone like that , I would have thought they could help

Hows this for a coincidence son has just come to me to say he is doing some voluntary work with a charity that teaches disengaged youngsters all about motorbikes with some social skills training as well and needs a crb done. Think they will have the forms in this case and propose him but that website tells you how to it even if you are self employed.

Thats correct. There are 2 different types depending on the information that you require to have on it and the purpose of having it.

Just rung the crb people usually you get the paperwork etc from your employer which is what sam will have to do unless you have certain details. Easier to ask employer and they should know anyway. Self employed as I presume tracy is have a slightly different procedure but the nice man on the phone was very helpful so I would on the site and give them a ring. Yes £36 is enhanced £26 for normal

Oh, well we have one for £10 down here.. Now I am confused... hmmm... lol

I rung the Scotland people (which is apparently for self employed) and had to leave my details but no one has got back to me yet.
£10 is probably because its through a company?

Tracey this price is direct with the Police. I've dealt with payments and ID issues when i've helped out in the front offices... I'll get it all double checked for you on sunday when I go back to work. I'd like to confirm it up in my mind what costs what etc..

Thank you. I rung my police station, who put me through to the records department, then they gave me the number for CRB who gave me the number for some scottish something or other.
