There is a ringcraft in Ifield on a wed evening. There is one in Cuckfield on a mon evening. Also every 2 weeks there is a smallish ringcraft in Lower Beeding on a wed evening.
There is another one I think on tues in Storrington.
They should all be getting up and running again next week. If you want more details on any of them then let me know :-). What breed do you have? Some of the clubs can sometimes fair better for certain breeds.

Thank you very much, thats really helpful, I have a 7 month Golden Retriever and Ifield or Lower Beeding would be best for us location and evening wise so further details would be greatly appreciated although I have emailed someone re the L B one but would be happy to see what contact details you have in case the one I found is out of date...how does L B and Ifield fair breed wise for a GR do you think?

I can't comment on Ifield or Lower Beeding but the Cuckfield hall is a good size and there is someone who has GR who handles the dogs sometimes who is very experienced - most of the committee are very helpful and friendly.

Tbh if yr starting out I'd recommend Cuckfield over the others if you have a GR as Rachel has mentioned.
for the others then it would be ifield.
I'll send more details tomorrow when back at pc and not on phone in bed :-)

Right Ifield starts at 7pm and its something like £1.50 a dog each week and £3 for yearly membership.
The hall isn't huge but its not bad and Arthur Mould runs it. There are quite a few gundog people who go there, no Goldie's though at the moment. I like to go there when I can, its good for a gossip and catch up with people.
LB is in a small hall, its only every other wednesday and it was £4 a session. The last time I went there were hardly any gundog people, mainly working and pastoral. One of my breeders helps run it, so if needs be I can pass you her details for what weeks its on.
Cuckfield on a mon from 8pm is in a larger hall than the others and a huge mix of different people doing the handling and assisting. There is a Goldie breeder who often goes and he would be a huge help to you. Lots of Gundog people go here. A very friendly bunch of people who do monthly match nights and often get inter club matches too. Only £1.50 a dog each week. I went to the last one which was Dec match night and Dog Of The Year, which RachelSetters won with her boy :-). Very friendly bunch of people.
Not sure where you live but we do have people coming from Surrey to this one. We even had one lady come over from Chichester a few times..

Thank you very much Sue and rachel, Goodness, choices, I didnt expect! Cuckfield is going to be a push for various reasons although definately sounds the favourite but we will see if its possible but Ifield and maybe sometimes L B for starters could be good to begin with if we cant. I have heard back from L B and it starts back next week. Do people visit various ones? Or only if you know people at them? Protocol?!

You turn up as and when with ringcraft. Some people only go when they have puppies, others go all the time and then you'll have people who turn up for practice before a big show etc etc.. Its not about who you know with r/c, not around here anyway. My preference is Ifield over LB, just for size of hall, they do it all outside in the summer months, its cheaper and every week too.
Cuckfield is my favourite and i've made some firm friends though this club, Rachel included :-)

Sadly I don't go to Cuckfield much as it clashes with agility but we do go for the Junior Handling once a month and try to do the odd match night if we can! Although I have a pup at the moment he will be going to Horam (Eastbourne R/C) on Thursday's - bit further than Cuckfield for us!

I used to go to the Ifield one about 10 years ago, doubt it's changed much if Arthur is running it still ;-) Very friendly, hall is ok in size, certainly not huge, but I've been in a lot smaller halls. Should be fine for a puppy & they have good mats from memory.
People very friendly & helpful if you need advice.

Brilliant, thanks everyone for your help, so we can go to a usual one we choose but if we cant make that one its fine to go to another if we dont want to miss a week or just want to meet new faces too. We certainly would want to go to Cuckfield at some point early on anyway to meet the GR handler to see what they think, our lad is an energetic chappy, when I hear of pups starting stacking at 5 weeks old I worry we are a little late although theres been a little practice to date but nothing like enough! Help on focus too will be good! How do you meet somewhere in the middle?! Its all or nothing! He will do anything for his favourite treat..but unfortunately he doesnt know which to do first and is so keen to please in order to get it he often tries to do them all at once!! He will stand now to 'stand' with the treat held to his mouth whilst I try to place his legs, with him near nibbling it, so we have progressed, but I am sure we will digress once we are amongst other dogs! :) Look forward to meeting you and introducing you to my young man!
