Would you recommend this for trimming a GR youngster?

I have Irish setters and my dogs co owner uses one to thin out his neck.

Personally no, I use one on my old girl who has been spayed and it does take out the woolly coat but I feel that trimming a youngster should be done with thinning scissors

Thank you - I have been using thinning scissors to date.  A friend suggested this - she has Cockers.

I would stick with thinners. :)

It might help a bit but thinners are probably better.
