Has anyone tried these?  http://www.ovulationpads.info/

They look much simpler than blood tests, but perhaps best used alongside bloods rather than instead of?

The website doesn't say exactly what they're measuring or how they work...

Hi  i have tried them a few times and i found they were not allways accurate. Far better is the saliva test which has never let us down yet. A small microscope for £10 is all that is needed and plenty of drool lol

Hmm, getting enough saliva from my bitch was always the problem even though she's relatively drooly for her breed. These might be worth a try in 2 years time with her daughter if all goes well!

Yep, tried them and complete waste of money for us. However, I have a friend who has used them and swears by them.

Same as Trialist.  Might just as well have thrown the money down the drain.  And be very careful with the sharp edges, some people have scratched the vulva on their bitches.

I and many breeder friends both sides of the Pond have used these with great success, even alerted to me that one of my females was ovulating much earlier than would be expected.

The only downside is they don't have a long shelf life so order them just before I am expecting the girls to come into season, bulk orders can be shared with other breeders.

Used them a couple of times and agree with the majority of people, a complete waste of money.  Ended up throwing them away,

I have used these for my girl this season and after 2 years of failed trying through blood test etc etc we were bang on date using these and now have a litter due in 4 weeks :o)  I bought mine of eBay and paid about £6 for 10. I have since found out they are actually Clinistix used for testing glucose in the urine and retail at £5 for 50. So they would be worth a go for anyone who has missed using previous methods.

I bought them, wouldnt reccommend them at all.  The last time I mated my bitch we had done blood test and were told to mate day 10 & 12. I also out of interest tried the pads on both these days and for a few days that followed and they didnt change to say she was ovulating and yet we got a litter :)

They're utter rubbish and have extremely sharp edges.  I think I put pretty much the same reply every time these things are mentioned.
