Hello, a quick question please.

Friend of mine has a toy bitch who is 5 wks pregnant, shes worried about exercising her in this weather. Shes read the BOTB but it doesnt seem to advise either way, I checked aswell. Her vet has said its ok...any help please. Thankyou

I've always treated my pregnant bitches as normal - it's important to keep them fit because labour is hard work for them, and a flabby bitch is a recipe for disaster. That said, you don't want her to get exhausted, so continue walks but don't let her tire herself out wading through deep snow.

Thanks for that Jean.
I will pass on the info.
This is my friends and her girls 1st litter so she is a bit anxious..the bitch is eating like a horse at the mo aswell and if not careful she will be huge before the pups are born!!!
Mine almost starved herself while she was preggers, very scarey that!!

Hi White Lilly, the pups are due around the 19th of jan.I think!!
We took our dogs out for a little toddle...mine love the snow and charged around like loons, she kept her girl on the lead tho.
