My small breed dog is on day 57 since her first mating. I have been monitoring her temperature for the past 2 days which has been between 99.2 and 100.5. Yesterday afternoon dropped to 98.6 and then rose again to 99+ by the evening. Could this have been her temp drop?? We had a very restless night, rippping up the newspaper in her whelping pen and heavy breathing which lasted until around 4.30am. Her temp is back up to 100.5 and she hasnt moved from the whelping pen at all. I gave her some breakfast which she took a mouthful of and left the rest. She is acting very out of character. If this is it when should I expect pups?

her temp could drop more than that yet! thats why its best to take it twice a day at same times and you will see a patten of her temp it when you get a very big drop to 96.8 or below that some times you know labour will start within 24h ,good luck! xx
