I just text the owner of a girl who is expecting pups to see how her girl was doing and to ask if she had seen the pups move yet.
She said that she had seen them but her girl keeps pushing her away with her foot and looks a bit uneasy when she goes to touch her belly. I explained that she could really do with working on getting her bitch comfortable with the idea of having her belly and legs touched before she gets any further along in pregnancy so that when the pups are here she allows her to move the pups if necessary and also to clean mums undercarriage and vulva area.
I said that I give mine back massages by sitting on the floor or the edge of the settee and have my girl sit between my legs facing away and stroke and gently rub in circular motions an inch either side of her spine and also over her shoulders and back legs. My girl absolutely loves it and goes all droopy and makes happy grunting noises and I feel it gives us a great one to one quiet time to bond and to re-inforce her trust and relaxation with me for when whelping time comes.

She sent a text back saying she doesn't know if she could as it sounds a bit dirty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That never even crossed my mind............Surely the text must have been sent in jest???????????

Maybe she has never heard it before, is it her first litter? I'm surprised she hasn't read that tip somewhere.

Is she young? i'd probably read it as it was sent but i can bet my oldest daughter could see other things i couldn't for a giggle :-D

when ever my bitch is laid on the floor an i bend down to her she rolls over onto her back because she is that use to me tickling her belly, i'll lay on the floor next to her an stroke her belly, she loves it

Both my girls love their tummys stroked, if I do one the other comes along and lays on her back and looks at me as if to say "yeah, me too!"
I dont find anything pervy about it...they trust me enough to air their wares:)

Well shoot, I must be a total perv then, as I do that to all my girls all the time - not just when pregnant.  It's good for them - and I have one who insists on having her time as we got into the habit earlier in the summer when she injured herself.

Maybe it's the 'between your legs' bit that she just didn't get and pictured something a bit differently??

I am really laughing here, because I can recall a CD member admitting that when she stacks her male dog, she tickles his balls to stop him from moving.   I am cracked up recalling lots of things that members have admitted from time to time.

They should lock us all up!  :-)  :-)

It has become an evening ritual that if the boys (dogs) can stretch out beside me on the sofa or floor I'm nudged until I give in and rub their tummies.
I remember reading somewhere, that you shouldn't do this (to a male dog) as it encourages humping!

Lacy ..I puppy sat my friends 9 wk old puppy the other day...he tried twice to hump my furry boots!! dont think it anything to do with belly rubbing its just males...:)

Oh Dear, sign me up to the pervert list too! My boy once had a cyst on his "2 veg" and since then I'm always checking them and every other part of all my dogs, they love it too and yes usually I have a que waiting for the tummy rubs and general pampering :-)

I'm one too then, I'm already getting my puppy used to being touched, not only checking teeth, ears, legs etc, but also having her 'bits' touched so she is used to it when I want to see if she's coming into season or ready to be mated in years to come! I know what your friend means though, at first it does seem a bit odd, but it's perfectly normal!

Maybe its a champdogs thing I stroke my dogs tums and "inner thighs " shock ! they go all gooey In fact they love any kind of stroking whever  and yes check over their bodies to make sure all is well and if a vet needs to inspet my dogs wont mind too much. Never thought I was perverted omg!

looks like im on the pervert list too and my hubby LOL ...our dogs love being touched ,finny but the 1 due in jan is very ticklesh at the mo and shes like a child if i go to tickle her belly she throughs herself all over the floor lol our boy is so used to his bits being touched hubby is alway touching them LOL just to make sure hes ok with it if ever at vets LOL

well lets hope she doesn't have to assist the bitch when in labour by getting a stuck puppy out etc as that would be tragic having to check the bitch *internally* for presentation etc my boy also likes his furries ticlked along with the rest of his body, I always feel it is a sign of trust and it also helps the vet no end if they ever have any problems and need to be looked at!

I think when you've handled a few studs and been sprayed in all the obvious then a quick massage is is nothing! :-D

It seems as though "dog people" can talk about ALL the facts of life without cringing at all.... Something "non dog people" cannot comprehend. Having said that... I've just realised she is a dog person. Maybe its just me that likes to over share then ;-)

Well this made me chuckle, definitely a pervert, and one of my bitches is very tactile, always rubbing against my legs like a cat, and she shoves her head up when walking underneath my legs, I'm always telling her she won't fit up there, lol!!  They both love any contact and fussing, and get giddy if you tickle their tums and thighs. 

Count me in too! my girl loves any contact - and I'm always checking her nipples to make sure they are not mis shappen or sore etc and she loves it.I think the pervy thinking is in the mind of the thinker! Dont care what people think,she likes massages,needs cheking all over,and hell,when she has babies all of her will need checking out and she wont think there is any thing wrong with that - because there isnt!

When we clip/dremel their toenails all mine are upside down between my legs (ooh really pervy LOL) and I also use that time to check their nipples (found a lump on one of our girls which could have turned cancerous, so had her spayed), their 'bits', their tummies, and to look for nasty critters.  They love this part of the 'toenail trimming' routine.  They hate the toenail part LOL
